Background Research

We have researched prices for ACL braces and they can range up to $500. I can speak from a personal experience. When I tore my ACL, my parents made a huge ordeal because my brace cost over $100. Luckily, I was able to afford this with insurance, but many patients may not have insurance and enough money to spend on a brace. When recovering from an ACL tear, one huge step to recovery is to heat your knee at specific times. We want to make this step easier by making the brace be able to heat up rather than you having to remove the brace to apply a heating pad. We believe we are taking the next big step in recovering from ACL tears by making a brace with heating and cooling capabilities. There are so many resources out there capable of helping us achieve our goal of producing this brace. With current technology, I am very optimistic about being able to make our brace heat up.
